World clock (for that instant)
Frequently asked questions
How does it handle daylight saving time?
It uses your browser's built-in IANA time-zone database, so daylight-saving shifts are applied automatically for the exact date you choose — including historical and future rule changes.
What is the difference between EST and America/New_York?
EST is only the winter offset; America/New_York is the full zone that switches between EST and EDT across the year. Choosing the named zone gives correct results whatever the date.
Does the conversion happen on a server?
No. It runs entirely in your browser using the Intl API, so no times you enter are sent anywhere.
Why does the converted time land on a different day?
Large offsets between zones can push a time past midnight, so the date rolls forward or back. The result shows the full date to make that clear.
What does the world clock show?
It lists the same instant across several major cities, so you can pick a meeting time that works everywhere at a glance.
